Purpose

The Texas Hunger Research Project (THRP) is a partnership between the Center for Public Policy Priorities (CPPP) ,Texas Food Bank Network (TFBN) and the Texas Hunger Initiative (THI) at Baylor University, that will leverage the strengths of the three organizations to establish a central resource for information on issues related to food security in Texas. The THRP will look to address needed areas of research related to food security and engage faculty from various Texas universities and disciplines in carrying out this research.

THRP staff will perform primary and secondary research on food security issues and provide information to the public including elected officials, foundations, and the media. THRP will also research best practices for efficiently and effectively administering federal nutrition assistance programs and identify strategies for Texas to increase participation in those programs.

Please feel free to contact us with feedback and suggestions on this website. Our goal is to make this a helpful tool to a broad spectrum of users.
